During the weekend before the Lense based media pathway, we were asked to take pictures of our everyday life as well as interesting things that we might come across.
One of the most interesting things I unintentionally came across was while I was sitting at a bench in a park waiting for a friend. The bench itself however wasn't the interesting part, it was the quote that was written on it, "change your thoughts and you change your world".
The fact that this thought provoking quote was written on an ordinary bench in an ordinary park was the most interesting part, it's as though who ever wrote this quote on the bench wanted people to sit and think while they sat and rested.
I then attempted to draw the whole picture using charcoal on A1 paper, I foud this quite challenging because we were drawing it on the floor and the charcoal, being the tricky drawing tool that it is, kept smudging onto other parts of the paper as well as onto my hands and clothes.
After we finished drawing our picture we were asked to use another sheet of paper to crop our image.
While doing this task I focused on the quote written on the bench because I believed it was the most powerful element within the picture.
