While watching and re-watching Blade Runner the quote that captured my attention the most was when Rachael asked "did you ever take the test yourself, Mr Deckard?" It fueled the idea that Deckard himself may be a replicant also, and this was supported by various scenes throughout the film.
One of these scenes was during the beginning when Deckard and Rachael met.
Rachael: Do you like our owl?
Deckard: It's artificial?
Rachael: Of course it is.
Deckard: Must be expensive.
Rachael: Very.
I'm Rachael.
Deckard: Deckard.
The owl in the movie is an artificial replicant and this was shown through it's robotic eyes that glimmer slighting in different angles and lighting (picture above), this may be the reason as to why they pay close attention to the eyes of test takers when trying to find out whether they are a replicant or not. The scriptwriters cleverly handed us this information to help us possibly figure out the rest of the movie. Also, although it may seem normal that Deckard and Rachael introduce themselves to each other right after they discuss the artificial owl, it may actually be a hidden clue from the scriptwriters to the audience that Rachael and Deckard are both artificial too and that Deckard doesn't know, just like he didn't know that the owl is artificial also.
The glimmer in the eyes is again shown in the screenshot above in Rachael's eyes, who now knows she is a replicant, however it is now also shown in Deckard's eyes. Throughout the film, Deckard is seen as a cold hearted person that is only trying to do his job, this therefore adds to the idea the he himself might be a replicant, as although he shows some emotion it can be compared to Rachael's situation because she shows emotions too but they are the result of her implanted memories, hinting that Deckard's emotions could be the result of his implanted memories also.
