For the "3 in 2" project, which is simply to do three projects in the space of two weeks, I chose to do "constructed photo", "illustration cover" and "hidden treasures".

For the "illustration cover" project, which ended up being my favourite project out of the three, I chose to do a cover for The Economist about the topic of "media control". We were briefly asked to just create a graphic illustration that works within an established format. Personally, I have always been intrigued by the topic of "media control" and so researching it further for my project was very enjoyable and fuelled my interest. The idea process also proved to be easier than the rest of the three projects.

After designing my illustration cover I went onto use photoshop to add text and further enhance its idea of being a magazine cover by adding features such as subheading for articles within the magazine as well as the important title for that issue of the magazine.

For the "constructed photo" project I picked "sparkle" as I believed it was an interesting and diverse word that could essentially be developed into many designs. The idea was to use photography in order to communicate information. For "sparkle" I decided to focus on eyes as the first phrase that I would think of after seeing/hearing the word was "eye glimmer". Therefore I looked at anime eyes as my inspiration and decided to turn a normal human beings eyes into that of an animes.

Adding sparkles to normal eyes proved to make them look larger, more awake as well as more innocent looking, which is probably why they are so popular in the animation world.

Finally, for the "hidden treasures" project we were asked to explore London, taking pictures as evidence, and show it's beauty and uniqueness through a different way, by constructing and putting photos that we took while on our journey together.

For this project I decided to combine the "normal everyday thing" with the "fascinating new thing". I did this by using the pictures that I took on my day out in London to create two pictures within one showing the everyday and new, showing the hidden treasures that we have all around us.

For example my design of the costa cup with the picture of the bright sun combines the everyday routine of having a normal drink however adds the new element of seeing a bright scenery.
